SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE
The Boone County Fiscal Court will conduct a special meeting on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Boone County Administration Building, Fiscal Court Chambers, 2950 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky 41005. The meeting agenda will include consideration of two items: 1) an ordinance, via emergency adoption, relating to the county's reapportionment of commissioner districts, and; 2) an ordinance, first reading only, involving county incentives relating to an economic development project. No other agenda items will be considered at this special meeting. Any member of the public requiring special accommodation is encouraged to contact the county in advance of the meeting in order that special arrangements can be considered.

Snow Emergencies in Boone County
Snow season is fast approaching and residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the three levels of snow emergencies. Snow emergencies are declared by the Judge/Executive with advice from the Sheriff's Office and Emergency Management Departments. Use Condition Alert during Inclement Weather
The Boone County Government website has a service called "Condition Alert" for residents to report inclement weather conditions or weather related issues requiring non-emergency response from the county. Non-emergency response conditions include water or small patches of ice on a road or other weather related issues. The "Condition Alert" form is available here or under the menu bar on the left side of the website. For emergency services, please call 9-1-1 and a dispatcher will direct the appropriate response.

South Airfield Road Project Update
A groundbreaking ceremony for this project took place earlier this year. This project is being administered by the Boone County Fiscal Court with federal and local dollars. Construction is underway and the contract calls for this project to be finished by late 2012. The road will connect Burlington Pike (KY-18) to Turfway Road with additional connections to Zig Zag Road and Houston Road in Florence. Engineers project daily traffic counts of 49,000 vehicles by 2030.

County Elected Officials Meet
Boone County Elected Officials met today to discuss additional collaboration efforts for 2012. The officials discussed the budget and clarified the capital improvements project report. County Encourages Citizens to Resolve to Be Ready in 2012
Burlington, KY– The New Year is a perfect time to Resolve to be Ready and Boone County Emergency Management is proud to be promoting emergency preparedness for 2012. To help the community become better prepared, Boone County Emergency Management is promoting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Resolve to be Ready Campaign - a nationwide effort to increase awareness and encourage individuals, families, businesses and communities to take action and prepare for emergencies in the New Year.
