North Bend Road Resurfacing Project Update
Burlington, KY–The Kentucky Department of Highways issued this information earlier today. The state has a major pavement repair project in progress on KY 237 (North Bend Road) in Boone County. Work began in August on the $5.4 million project, which is centered on the heavily traveled corridor between KY 18 (Burlington Pike) and Medical Arts Drive. Crews have removed deteriorated concrete pavement and are replacing it with asphalt. Motorists need to be aware that the current driving surface is the asphalt base, not the finished surface. The asphalt base makes for a somewhat bumpy ride. The final asphalt surface will be noticeably smoother. The project is on target to be complete by summer 2012.
